Ice Sculpture World Championship Grand Champion Tournament
The world of ice where 22 individual and 14 team competitions compete. Be dazzled by the delicate technique
It is the only international ice sculpture competition in Japan that is held at the same time as the “Asahikawa Winter Festival”. In addition to players selected from all over the country, from Hokkaido to Okinawa, they also participated from overseas. Using 8 icicles (1 m× 53 cm× 26 cm, weighing about 135 kg) (16 for groups), 38 hours (40 hours for groups) are spent on production time to carve the work. After the competition, beautifully lit up ice sculptures will be displayed for about 1 km from JR Asahikawa Station to 7-jo Street in Asahikawa Peace Street Shopping Park.
