Joban Park

Joban Park, nestled in the city center, is a beautiful urban park dotted with ponds, fountains, seasonal flowers and sculptures.
The park has a walking path and a lawn plaza, and you can enjoy a variety of ways to spend your time, such as picnicking, jogging, and boating.
On the Ishikari River on the north side of the park, there is also the “Asahi Bridge”, which is also the symbol of Asahikawa, and a water-friendly space on the riverbed.

In addition, you can walk around cultural facilities such as the adjacent Hokkaido Asahikawa Museum of Art and the Teijiro Nakahara Memorial Asahikawa City Sculpture Museum (Annex), allowing you to experience both nature and art.
It is an oasis in the city where you can encounter expressive landscapes throughout the year, such as cherry blossoms in spring, deep greenery in summer, autumn leaves in autumn, and snowy scenery in winter.
There is a large freedom square in the park, and in addition to the radio gymnastics field for citizens, city-wide events such as the food marche are held.
At the adjacent Liberine Asahikawa Park (community land), fireworks displays and the Asahikawa Winter Festival are held, and many citizens and tourists visit.
