Higashikawa Town
Nature has the highest peak in Hokkaido, Mt. Asahi. From hiking to autumn leaves, there are plenty of fun to enjoy in all four seasons.
Higashikawa Town, located at the gateway to Daisetsuzan National Park, is home to Mt. Asahidake (2,291m), the highest mountain in Hokkaido, where you can enjoy magnificent nature throughout the four seasons.
Many tourists from all over the country come to enjoy mountain climbing, hiking, and cycling in summer (July), and the earliest autumn leaves in Japan in autumn (September).
In the Tenjin Gorge in the national park, there is a Hagoromo Falls that flows gracefully down the gorge, and has been selected as one of the “100 Best Waterfalls in Japan”.
Higashikawa Town, which lives on groundwater gushing from the Daisetsuzan mountain range, offers safe and delicious crops grown in mineral-rich water, as well as stylish cafes.
