The plane tree row, also known as the “Romantic Road”, is a streetscape that represents Asahikawa, with plane trees lined up on the sidewalk for about 3 kilometers. The magnificent branches and leaves cover the road directly above, creating a spectacular “green tunnel” that changes its expression with the seasons. From the glow of fresh greenery, the deep shadows of midsummer, the golden rows of trees in autumn, and the neat branches of winter, you can find impressive scenery whenever you visit.

In particular, the area adjacent to Kaguraoka Park is a series of highlights. Western-style buildings such as restaurants and confectionery shops are dotted around, and combined with the tree-lined atmosphere, it is a fun area to walk around. Since the walking section continues, you can take a leisurely walk or ride a bicycle to cut the wind. It is also ideal for a half-day course combined with photography and café tours. This tree-lined street, which boasts one of the largest scales in Japan, is a must-visit cityscape where you can experience the four seasons of Asahikawa and the aesthetics of the city.
